I baked a LOT in September! Some was good, some was really bad (see below)
The best recipe of September 2019 was my incredible gluten-free vegan apple crisp recipe. If you read last month’s rundown, you would know I reintroduced dairy into my diet. That didn’t go well, so i’m back to non-dairy.
I also made gluten-free bread in a bread maker for the first time! It was good but I still prefer Udi’s Soft White.

Since I’ve been baking so much the below have been my favorite pantry staples this month.
September 2019 Gluten-Free Fails
The biggest fail of this month was the Simple Mills Pumpkin Mix. These tasted more like spice cake them pumpkin which was disappointing.
Trader Joe’s Jo Jo’s, Trader Joe’s Gluten-Free Pretzel Twists, Trader Joe’s Gluten-Free Crunchy Ginger chunk cookies were very disappointing and I would not repurchase any of those. For more in depth reviews of Trader Joe’s gluten-free products, check out my post.
Another fail was the Home Free Vanilla cookies. They just tasted like stale, hard vanilla wafers.
